The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has finalized 1,400 registries for industrial plots out of 3,040 allotted, marking a significant step in the region’s industrial development, as published by The Economic Times.

This surge in registrations, fueled by the upcoming Noida International Airport, is expected to drive major industrialization over the next three to four years.

Over 1,200 registries were completed in the past 18 months alone, reflecting a marked acceleration compared to previous years when only 30 to 35 registries were completed annually, according to YEIDA officials.

The industrial plots span several critical sectors, each contributing to the region’s growth trajectory:

    • Sector 29: Apparel Park
      • Total plots allotted: 149
      • Lease deeds completed: 75
    • Sector 33: Toy Park
      • Total plots allotted: 139
      • Registries finalized: 74
    • Sector 28: Medical Devices Park
      • Total plots allotted: 73
      • Lease deeds executed: 15

In addition, all eight mix-land use plots under YEIDA’s schemes have completed their registry processes.

YEIDA officials said that formalities completed during the past year and a half will enable companies to begin construction and make their industries operational within three to four years. Key projects expected to contribute to this industrialization include the Apparel Park, Toy Park, and Medical Devices Park.

Some companies have already begun operations:

    • Vivo: Started production earlier this year on a 169-acre plot in Sector 24A.
    • Avery Dennison, Surya Global Flexi Films, and Bikanervala: Operational on their allotted plots.

Foundation stones for the Apparel Park and Toy Park were laid in September 2023, further accelerating the timeline for these clusters.

To address pending registries, YEIDA plans to issue fresh notices urging allottees to complete the process. This follows a public notice issued earlier this year, which required industrialists to finalize registries within 60 days of receiving their checklists.

The authority mandates that companies initiate construction soon after completing their registry, with a four-year timeframe to finish construction and obtain functional certificates. This approach ensures that industrial development aligns with the region’s strategic vision.

The proximity to the Noida International Airport has significantly enhanced the appeal of the Yamuna Expressway for investors. With improved infrastructure and streamlined administrative processes, the area is set to become a focal point for industrial and economic growth.

YEIDA officials anticipate a visible transformation in the region within the next few years, with operational industries creating a ripple effect on employment and infrastructure development.
