Haryana has taken a prominent role among Indian states by successfully introducing and implementing the innovative Property ID system. Officially referred to as the ‘Creation of New Property-ID under Normal and Tatkaal Scheme,’ this groundbreaking initiative has received significant recognition from top government officials and serves as a model for other states to follow.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has applauded Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar for his unwavering commitment to the ‘Creation of New Property-ID.’ The Prime Minister’s endorsement highlights the significance and potential impact of this visionary initiative.

Dr. Kamal Gupta, the Minister of Urban Local Bodies, unveiled the comprehensive Property ID system at a press conference held in Chandigarh. This system has seamlessly integrated an impressive 34 lakh properties located within the Lal Dora region into the newly established Property ID database.

A notable feature of this integration is the automatic data entry process, which extracts essential property information from existing property registries. This streamlined approach not only simplifies the entire procedure but also eases the burden on property owners.

Dr. Gupta revealed that out of the 2,274 unauthorised colonies, an impressive 494 have already achieved regularization, with ongoing efforts aimed at extending this regularization to the remaining colonies. He expressed unwavering confidence that nearly 850 colonies will attain regularization status by January 31, 2024.

Dr. Gupta also emphasized the significance of the ‘Svamitva Yojana,’ an initiative that confers ownership rights upon shopkeepers who have dedicated two decades to their respective establishments, with the cutoff date set at December 31, 2020. This move underscores the government’s commitment to recognizing and empowering long-standing businesses.

One of the standout features of the new Property ID system is its unwavering commitment to enhancing accessibility for citizens. Dr. Gupta stressed that property-related information can now be promptly disseminated to urban local body citizens through SMS, ensuring that crucial updates reach property owners without delay.

In a proactive measure aimed at providing relief to property owners, Dr. Gupta announced a limited-time tax relief for full property tax payments during the fiscal year 2023-24. This relief period extends until November 15, 2023, offering property owners much-needed respite. Additionally, property owners now have the convenience of verifying their property data on the departmental portal, allowing them to rectify any errors efficiently and expeditiously.

This significant announcement took place in the esteemed presence of notable dignitaries, including the Director of the Urban Local Bodies Department, Yash Pal, and the Additional Director, Y. S. Gupta, alongside other esteemed senior officers of the department.

The successful implementation of the Property ID system in Haryana signifies a significant stride toward enhancing transparency and efficiency in property transactions and ownership. As the inaugural state in India to achieve this momentous feat, Haryana has set a formidable precedent for others to emulate, thereby fostering a more organized and accessible property ecosystem.
