The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has successfully allotted two out of the five data center plots in Sector 28 of the Delhi suburb, a move that is expected to generate revenue of ₹59.17 crore for the authority.
According to YEIDA, a significant investment of ₹1,757.45 crore is planned for these two data center plots, with an estimated 775 jobs expected to be created.
YEIDA initiated the scheme for the sale of five data center plots in Sector 28, situated along the Yamuna Expressway that connects Noida and Agra, on September 27, 2023. The scheme concluded on October 26, offering three plots of 20,000 square meters each, and one plot of 40,000 square meters and another of 1,25,660 square meters.
However, only three applications were received for the three 20,000 square meter plots. These plots were allocated based on interviews and evaluations of the companies’ profiles. Following a meeting of the allotment committee on November 7, interviews were conducted, and profiles were examined to shortlist the applicants. As a result, two companies specializing in the data center sector, namely Sify Infinite Spaces Limited and Jackson Limited, were found eligible and were allocated the data center plots D10 and D9, respectively, for development.
Data center plot D10 was allotted at a reserve price of ₹15,497 per square meter, while D9 was allocated at the rate of ₹14,088 per square meter. This allocation marks a significant milestone for YEIDA as it positions itself as a hub for data center development, with the potential to attract substantial investments and create job opportunities in the region.
