YEIDA is making significant strides to enhance tourism and stimulate economic growth in the Agra region. The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority plans to develop a new city covering 10,500 hectares of land. This marks a noteworthy shift in YEIDA’s strategy, showcasing a dedication to expanding development beyond its usual scope.

Established on April 24, 2001, Yeida has been a key player in propelling industrial progress between Greater Noida and Agra. The proposed city, situated along the Yamuna Expressway connecting Greater Noida with Agra, aims to evolve into a vibrant urban center. Arun Vir Singh, Chief Executive Officer of YEIDA, stated, “We’ve decided to acquire 10,500 hectares in the Agra district to develop an urban center along the Yamuna Expressway.”

The development plan encompasses the creation of residential centers and manufacturing units. Approval is anticipated in the upcoming November board meeting, following which YEIDA will craft a master plan for the new city.

YEIDA’s expansion into the Agra region represents a significant step in its growth journey. Despite initial plans for 2 lakh hectares in six districts, YEIDA has acquired only 20,000 hectares along the expressway.

Upon approval, Yeida plans to collaborate with architectural consultants to formulate a detailed master plan, outlining land usage in the proposed city. Arun Vir Singh emphasizes, “We aim to promote tourism and manufacturing in the city, along with offering residential facilities.”

“If the board approves the proposal,” Singh adds, “we will expedite the development and align with the UP government’s directives.”

So, YEIDA’s venture signifies a new approach to development. The proposed city along the Yamuna Expressway holds promise for economic growth, tourism, and a comprehensive urban experience. As progress unfolds, YEIDA is poised to make a lasting impact in transformative development.
