The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is preparing to open bookings for over 2,500 newly constructed flats under Phase 2 of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme starting on November 14, 2024.

As published by the The Economic Times, this initiative aims to provide affordable housing options in several key areas, including Rohini, Dwarka, Mangolpuri, Ramgarh, Loknayakpuram, Siraspur, and Narela.

Pricing and Availability

The flats will be available at competitive prices starting from ₹11.5 lakh and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The scheme includes:

  • LIG Flats: More than 250 units in Rohini Sectors 34 and 35, priced between ₹12 lakh and ₹15.5 lakh.
  • EWS Flats: 180 units in Mangolpuri, priced from ₹32 lakh to ₹35 lakh.
  • Narela Offerings: 1,800 EWS flats in Sector A1-A4 (Pocket 1A, 1B, and 1C), priced between ₹18 lakh and ₹20 lakh.

Prospective buyers can register for these flats starting now, with the DDA emphasizing the urgency of early registration to secure a unit.

Immediate Occupancy and Community Enhancements

All flats in Phase 2 are ready for immediate occupancy, allowing new homeowners to move in without delay. An official from the DDA stated, “We aim to facilitate people buying their own house in Delhi, and all these flats offered in Phase 2 of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme are ready for moving in.”

In addition to selling flats, the DDA is also working on enhancing the surrounding living environment. The authority plans to develop green areas around unsold housing pockets to improve community aesthetics and quality of life. This includes efforts by the horticulture department to create landscaped areas, ensuring that cleanliness is maintained in these neighborhoods.

Previous Phases and Market Response

The ongoing sale of flats from Phase 1 of the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme, along with the Madhyam Vargiya and Dwarka Housing Scheme, remains active. Out of a total of 9,000 flats offered in Phase 1, approximately 1,650 flats have been sold since the launch.

  • Rohini has shown impressive demand, with all 708 LIG flats sold out.
  • In Narela, around 250 flats were booked, and Ramgarh also saw significant sales.

Additionally, from the 169 flats offered through e-auction in the Dwarka Housing Scheme, over 130 flats have been sold.
