Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that the upcoming Aerocity – Tughlakabad Silver Line corridor in Phase 4 of the metro expansion project will feature the longest platform among all the phase’s stations. According to DMRC, while the general length of underground metro stations in Phase 4 is around 225 metres, the Aerocity station will stretch to a length of 289 metres. This extended length has been carefully planned to accommodate the expected passenger traffic and establish the station as a key triple interchange facility connecting the Airport Express Line, Silver Line, and the RRTS corridor to Gurugram, Manesar, and Alwar.
The new station, situated at a depth of 23 metres, aims to provide seamless connectivity between the Airport Express Line, the Silver Line, and the RRTS corridor. As a terminal station, it will offer direct connectivity from Faridabad in the National Capital Region (NCR) to South Delhi and West Delhi, with a particular emphasis on providing convenient access to the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The station will be equipped with three entry and exit points. One of these will connect to the bustling business hub of Aerocity, while the other two entry and exit structures will link the station to NH-8 and the nearby Mahipalpur locality through a pedestrian subway. This enhancement in accessibility will greatly benefit passengers traveling to and from the airport.
A major advantage of the Aerocity station is its interchange provision with the existing high-speed Airport Express Line and the Delhi-Gurugram-Alwar RRTS Corridor. DMRC emphasizes that this seamless integration will allow passengers to easily transfer between the Tughlakabad-Aerocity Corridor and the high-speed Airport Express Line, providing them with enhanced connectivity options and greater convenience.

The Tughlakabad – Aerocity Corridor is a significant addition to Delhi’s Metro network, aiming to address the increasing transportation demands along Mehrauli-Badarpur Road, Chhattarpur Extension, and Mahipalpur areas to cater to the region’s growing population. DMRC expects the corridor to serve as a lifeline for commuters, reducing travel time and offering a reliable and efficient mode of transportation. Moreover, it will enable residents of South Delhi, Faridabad, and Noida to reach the airport more quickly.
With the construction work already underway, the new Aerocity – Tughlakabad Metro Station in Phase 4 holds great promise for enhancing Delhi’s metro network and improving connectivity for thousands of passengers traveling across the city and beyond.
