GHAZIABAD, India — The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is set to launch a co-working space, MetroDesk, at Ghaziabad’s Namo Bharat Station as part of its plan to transform urban transit hubs into business-friendly environments, as reported by ETNOW.

The initiative marks the first of its kind within the Namo Bharat network and aims to provide affordable, well-connected workspaces for professionals, entrepreneurs and small businesses in the region.

The MetroDesk co-working facility will be located in the station’s concourse area and will feature 42 open workstations, 11 private cabins and two meeting rooms. The space can accommodate up to 42 individuals and 11 companies at a time. It will include high-speed internet and plug-and-play workstations to ensure seamless productivity.

Its strategic location within the station is expected to reduce commute times, provide easy access and enhance efficiency for professionals working in and around Ghaziabad.

NCRTC is also developing commercial spaces within and around Namo Bharat stations to enhance passenger amenities and generate non-fare revenue. The initiative is expected to turn these stations into economic hubs, fostering business growth while improving transit infrastructure. Beyond providing transit services, this initiative will make the Namo Bharat Corridor a model for modern urban transit.

Located at the intersection of key roads on the Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, specifically at Meerut Tiraha Mor, the station sees significant foot traffic. Its connectivity to Shahid Sthal Metro Station further enhances its appeal as a prime location for professionals seeking flexible workspaces.

To provide a seamless and efficient experience, the co-working space will incorporate modern technology, including biometric entry and digital key cards for secure access. A dedicated platform will manage reservations, memberships and cashless transactions.

The workspace will be IoT-enabled with smart lighting, climate control and automated scheduling for meeting rooms. Additional features include video conferencing setups, wireless screen sharing and tech-enabled brainstorming zones. Reliable fiber-optic connectivity will ensure uninterrupted virtual meetings, while QR-based scanning will facilitate desk reservations, vending machine use and feedback collection.

Namo Bharat currently operates along a 55-kilometer stretch from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South, covering 11 stations. The full 82-kilometer corridor, including the Meerut Metro, is slated for completion by 2025. With these developments, the Namo Bharat Corridor is expected to redefine urban mobility and workplace efficiency in the region.
