Noida, Greater Noida, Noida Extension, and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region are on the cusp of a transformative year.

As published by News9, the Uttar Pradesh government and local authorities have unveiled ambitious infrastructure projects designed to boost connectivity, urban mobility, and economic growth.

From the much-anticipated Noida International Airport to new road networks and metro expansions, these projects are expected to drive significant real estate investment and reshape the region’s landscape.

Here’s an in-depth look at the five key projects slated for 2025:

    1. Noida International Airport

The Noida International Airport in Jewar is set to open its doors in April 2025, marking a major milestone for the region. Passenger services will initially operate on a single runway spanning 1,334 hectares, with 30 flights scheduled on the first day. This includes three international routes to Singapore, Zurich, and Dubai; 25 domestic routes; and two cargo flights.

Designed to accommodate 5 million passengers annually in its first phase, the airport will feature CAT III technology to ensure safe operations during adverse weather. A successful validation flight trial was conducted in December.

Once all phases are complete, the airport will have six runways, making it the largest in India.

    2. Bhangel Elevated Road

The Bhangel elevated road, a 5.5-kilometer stretch above Dadri Road, is nearing completion and is expected to open by Jan. 31, 2025. This critical infrastructure project aims to reduce traffic congestion on Dadri Road, which connects Noida to Dadri via Greater Noida.

The project faced delays due to unapproved structures, requiring design changes, but is now 90% complete. Once operational, it will provide a seamless commute for thousands of daily travelers, including those from sectors 18, 19, 20, 29, and 38A.

“This road will resolve congestion on the Dadri-Surajpur-Chhalera route and improve access to the National Special Economic Zone,” said Lokesh M, CEO of the Noida Authority.

    3. Noida International Film City

Work on the Noida International Film City is slated to begin in 2025 in YEIDA’s Sector 21, just 4 kilometers from the Noida International Airport. The project, led by Bayview Bhutani Film City Pvt. Ltd. and producer Boney Kapoor, has a development budget of Rs 1,510 crore.

The first phase will cover 230 acres, with 75 acres earmarked for commercial development and the remaining land for film industry purposes. The project is expected to be completed in eight years.

    4. Noida Metro Aqua Line Extension

The Aqua Line extension, approved by the Uttar Pradesh government, will connect Sector 51 to Greater Noida Knowledge Park V. The project, with a budget of Rs 2,991.60 crore, will add 11 new stations:

    • Noida Sector 51 (existing)
    • Noida Sectors 61, 70, 122, and 123
    • Greater Noida Sectors 4, 2, 3, 10, and 12
    • Greater Noida Knowledge Park V

Sector 61 will serve as an interchange hub with Delhi Metro’s Blue Line, improving connectivity between Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, and Greater Noida West.

    5. Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway

The Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) Expressway is another critical project expected to reshape travel in the National Capital Region (NCR). The detailed project report (DPR) is anticipated to be completed by January 2025.

This 56-kilometer expressway will reduce travel time between Ghaziabad and Gurugram from 2–3 hours to just 45 minutes. It will feature six lanes, expandable to eight, with multi-level flyovers, interchanges, and service roads. The expressway will have a minimum speed limit of 80 km/h.

These infrastructure initiatives are set to redefine Noida, Greater Noida, and the YEIDA region, positioning them as hubs of connectivity, commerce, and investment. As these projects take shape, they promise to transform the region into a model of modern urban development.
