In a major development initiative, the Noida Authority has announced plans to construct a new city called New Noida, also known as the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region. The project, spread across 21,102 hectares encompassing 85 villages in Greater Noida and Bulandshahar, aims to revitalize the Delhi-NCR region. The first phase of the project will see an investment of a staggering Rs 8500 crore.
The Noida Authority has allocated Rs 4500 crore for the acquisition of 3000 hectares of land, with an additional Rs 4000 crore earmarked for the development of 1500 hectares. The authorities are set to seek funds from the government, following which the land acquisition process will commence. To ensure proper planning and execution, the School of Planning and Architecture has been engaged to prepare the city’s master plan and a comprehensive financial model.
Ritu Maheshwari, CEO of the Noida Authority, has emphasized the importance of providing fair compensation to farmers during the land acquisition process. The financial plan has been instructed to be designed in a way that ensures proper compensation without any shortcomings. This approach aims to maintain transparency and equity while fostering positive relations with the local community.
New Noida will encompass various sectors, including residential, industrial, institutional, traffic and transport, green areas, utilities, water bodies, and more. The development plan entails allocating 41% of the land for industrial purposes, 11.5% for residential areas, 17% for greenery, 15.5% for roads, 9% for institutional purposes, and 4.5% for commercial areas.
The project will include 20 villages from Gautam Budh Nagar and 60 villages from Bulandshahar, attracting the attention of prominent companies like Ikea, Adani, and Microsoft, which have expressed interest in investing in New Noida. The development of the Dadri-Noida-Ghaziabad Investment Region is expected to generate employment opportunities and spur growth in the surrounding districts of Noida.
With its strategic location and planned development, New Noida aims to become a hub for commerce, industry, and residential living. The ambitious project seeks to address the growing demands of the Delhi-NCR region while offering a sustainable and modern living environment for its residents.
As the development progresses, New Noida has the potential to emerge as a model city, showcasing exemplary urban planning, infrastructure, and sustainable practices. The project signifies a promising chapter in the growth story of the Delhi-NCR region, fostering economic development, job creation, and improving the overall quality of life for its residents.
