To bring more transparency and ease of doing business in the Indian real estate, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri has announced the upcoming launch of real estate e-commerce platform. The announcement was made during India’s 1st National RERA Conclave held in Lucknow on Nov. 4.
Puri was speaking in the inaugural session of the RERA conclave when he made the declaration during his speech. He claimed that by “next makarsankranti,” this e-commerce portal will be operational.
“We’ve held discussions with both CREDAI and NAREDCO, and we will soon come up with an e-commerce portal for the real estate sector, possibly around Makar Sankranti,” the minister said.
All information pertaining to all the projects that have been completed, projects that have received occupancy certificates, information regarding size of the house, price of the house and the location will be available on the portal. The minister claimed that “buying property at the portal will as easy as buying something on Amazon or Flipkart.”
The Minister also declared that he is making the formal announcement after a detailed discussion with the teams and respective heads of CREDAI and NAREDCO. He also declared that national conclave will be held every year on the same lines so that all the stakeholders of real estate industry can meet and share knowledge and other industrial developments.

Although several regional RERA conclaves have been happening over past one year, this was India’s very first national conclave. The event was attended by some 1500 attendees including UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, chiefs of RERA bodies of 17 states along with 50 topnotch financial and banking experts, developers, promoters, and several home buyers’ groups.
The conclave was organized by UP RERA and sponsored by Government of Uttar Pradesh and Government of India along with the partnership of NAREDCO, CREDAI and National Home Buyers Association.
Further in the event, Durga Shanker Mishra, the secretary at the Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry, announced the setting up of a common public online portal where all the rulings and orders passed by different RERA authorities across the country in different cased will be easily available.
