The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has started checking complaints early to speed up handling cases.
UP RERA has made it easier to file complaints online, aiming to make the process simpler and faster. The new system, which began on January 15, 2024, is now more user-friendly and efficient for both homebuyers and developers.
Here’s how it works: UP RERA’s legal team checks each new complaint and accompanying documents. They ensure that all details, like the complainant’s information and project details, match the builder-buyer agreement. Additionally, they confirm that all necessary documents, such as payment receipts and bank statements, are provided.
If any issues are found, UP RERA notifies the complainant within seven days, giving them fifteen days to fix the problems. After that, a reminder is sent, and if the issues aren’t resolved, the complaint is still forwarded for review, but the process may take longer.
Sanjay Bhoosreddy, Chairman of UP RERA, believes this new process will benefit consumers by allowing them to file complaints without professional help. Once a complaint is registered and any issues are fixed, the complainant won’t need to keep providing more documents.
This streamlined process not only helps consumers but also enables faster resolution of cases, ensuring justice is served promptly. Bhoosreddy encourages everyone to check the new procedures on UP RERA’s website before filing a complaint.
