The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has successfully allotted 109 industrial plots through a draw conducted for sectors 28, 29, 32, and 33 along the Yamuna Expressway, linking Greater Noida with Agra. The draw saw a total of 3,276 applications, with 3,234 deemed eligible for participation.
This initiative, aimed at boosting industrial development, is anticipated to yield approximately Rs 136 crore in revenue for the Authority. Furthermore, it is projected that these allotted plots will attract an investment of Rs 16,498 crore, fostering the creation of an estimated 5,132 jobs.
The allocation scheme, initiated by the Authority in October 2023, encompasses a diverse range of industrial categories, including toy parks, handicrafts, furniture manufacturing, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The industrial plots, varying in size, were made available in eight different dimensions: 300 square meters (sqm), 450 sqm, 595 sqm, 1,000 sqm, 1,800 sqm, 2,000 sqm, 3,000 sqm, and 4,000 sqm.
YEIDA disclosed that out of the 3,276 received applications, 3,234 were deemed eligible for the draw. The allocation process was conducted through a lucky draw, as the Authority has transitioned away from the e-auction system for industrial plots, following directives from the Uttar Pradesh government. According to the new guidelines, plots measuring up to 4,000 sqm will be assigned through a draw of lots or lottery system, while plots exceeding this size will be allocated based on the company’s profile and an interview process.
